18ISSSMC
18th International School-Seminar “Spectroscopy of Molecules and Crystals” devoted to 175-th anniversary of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University
September 20 - 27, 2007 The Crimea, Ukraine
From 20 to 27 september, 2007, at sport and rest complex of Kyiv national Taras Shevchenko university in Beregove (the Crimea) the 18-th International School-Seminar “Spectroscopy of Molecules and Crystals”. At this school-seminar the leading scientists from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Slovenia, France, Poland, Romania, Uzbekistan gave 18 lectures on the actual problems of modern optics, in particular, on optical properties of nanoscale structures in semiconductors, liquid crystals, partly-ordered liquids; on femtosecond spectroscopy; on the latest achievements of laser physics; on the applying of modern methods of computer simulation in the interpretation of the results of spectroscopy investigations. The lectures were given by Corresponding Members of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences, professors L.Yatsenko, M.Valakh, M.Strzhemechny; Corresponding member of Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, professor O.Chalyi; Meritorious Science Worker of Russian Federation, professor V.Gorelik, professors L.Valkunas, V.Balevicius, I.Dmytruk, M.Dmytruk, S.Nizomov, O.Slododyanyuk, M.Lebovka an others. At the School-seminar 39 oral reports were made and about 150 poster reports were discussed. The organizing committee notes the actuality of the proposed for the discussion at 18ISSSMC scientific problems. Moreover, the scientific level of the 18th School-seminar is essentially higher than the corresponding level of the previous 17th School-seminar, which was conducted in Beregove in 2005.It should be noted that the important achievement of the organizers of this International scientific meeting is the holding of the parallel scientific school for the members of MAS of Ukraine (pupils of 10th- 11th forms). In the work of this school 23 pupils from different parts of Ukraine took part. For them Corresponding members of NAS of Ukraine and professors gave 11 lectures on such subjects as properties of photon crystals and carbon nanotubes, laser physics, the applying of physical methods in medicine. The members of MAS of Ukraine at their sittings have listened the 23 scientific reports of their coevals, took part in common poster sessions of 18ISSSMC. The Honoured Teacher of Ukraine L.M.Zasedka has holded the trainings on the solving of concurs problems and the competition on physics. In general in the work of 18th International School-seminar “Spectroscopy of Molecules and Crystals” took part 133 scientists and 16 accompanying persons. In the group from MAS of Ukraine there were 23 pupils and 5 teachers. Thus, in the work of 18ISSSMC 177 persons took part. Among the participants of 18ISSSMC there were 4 Corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, professors; Meritorious Science Worker of Russian Federation, professor; 33 professors, 50 Doctors of Sciences; 5 PhD students; 3 students.
In the work of 18ISSSMC 129 persons from Ukraine, 20 persons from Russia, 2 persons from Belarus, 9 persons from Lithuania, 3 persons from Romania, 2 persons from Poland, 3 persons from Uzbekistan, 1 person from France and 1 person from Slovenia took part.Accounting for all the said higher The Organizing Committee of 18th International School-Seminar “Spectroscopy of Molecules and Crystals” asks the Rector of Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University professor Skopenko Victor Vasilievych to assist to regular carring out (once in two years from 20 to 27 september) the International School-Seminars “Spectroscopy of Molecules and Crystals” at the sport and rest complex of Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University in Beregove (the Crimea).
